In 2016 Simmons Contracting was engaged by BGC Asphalt to install a new asphalt production and batching plant at the Hazelmere facility, Western Australia. This facility represented a unique development in WA and enabled BGC Asphalt to advance their position as a key player in Australian Asphalt production.

Simmons Global's Contracting division had a scope of works including the installation of various process equipment including a batching tower, rotary kiln, numerous transfer and collecting conveyors and crushing and screening plant & equipment.

The Simmons Global team was also engaged to design and integrate an oil heating circuit to provide consistent heat transfer to the bitumen storage tanks from a cylindrical coil oil heater. The erection works were completed in July 2016.
